The Impressive TimesNew Delhi, June 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives in a tragic mishap in Kolkata and announced financial assistance for the victims and their families from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia payment of ₹2 lakh to the next of kin of each person who lost their life in the incident. Additionally, ₹50,000 will be provided to those who sustained injuries.
Expressing condolences, the Prime Minister said the incident was deeply saddening. He also noted that the state government is working continuously to provide all necessary assistance to those affected by the tragedy.
In a message shared on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
He stated that all possible support is being extended to the affected people and their families during this difficult time.
Authorities are continuing relief and assistance efforts, while support is being provided to victims and their families. The ex-gratia assistance from PMNRF is aimed at offering immediate financial relief to those impacted by the mishap.
