Faridabad : Delhi Public School (DPS), Sohna, came alive with vibrant colours, music and festive cheer as students and their mothers participated in Navrang Utsav, a Garba-Dandiya workshop celebrating the spirit of Navratri and India’s rich cultural heritage.

Dressed in colourful traditional attire, mothers and children joined the lively workshop, which aimed to foster cultural appreciation, strengthen school-parent partnerships and promote learning beyond the classroom.
The event was graced by *Mrs Monika Jain, educationist and co-founder of the Shail Group, as the Guest of Honour. The workshop was conducted by **Ms Elisha Deep Garg, a disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj,* along with co-choreographer Ms Reeya Sharma.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Mrs Jain, the choreographers, Principal Dr Shalini Bindra, the staff members and participating mothers and students. Welcoming the gathering, Dr Bindra emphasised that meaningful learning extends beyond classroom walls and that cultural experiences play a vital role in nurturing well-rounded individuals. She expressed her gratitude to the guests and choreographers and appreciated the mothers for their enthusiastic participation. She also highlighted how Navrang Utsav celebrated Shakti — the strength, resilience and spirit embodied in every woman.

In her address, Mrs Jain underscored the importance of experiential learning and togetherness in shaping confident, well-rounded individuals, reinforcing the value of collaborative experiences between schools and families.
The highlight of the event was the interactive Garba-Dandiya workshop, during which the choreographers guided participants through traditional steps and rhythmic movements. The session soon transformed into a spirited gathering filled with music, laughter and shared enthusiasm, as mothers and students celebrated together.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sports Prefect Ishita Sharma and Ganges House Captain Harshvardhan Gaur, who acknowledged the contributions of the Guest of Honour, the choreographers and the participating mothers. A group photograph and refreshments marked the close of the event.

Through Navrang Utsav, DPS Sohna reaffirmed its commitment to holistic education, cultural awareness and meaningful partnerships between the school and its parent community.
