School Awareness Programmes: Instilling Road Discipline Early

New Delhi, 22 August 2025: The Delhi Traffic Police, under the leadership of Additional Commissioner Shri Satya Vir Katara, has rolled out a series of road safety awareness initiatives across the capital, emphasizing responsible driving and compliance with traffic rules.

Helmet Safety Drive: Major locations including Sector 24 Rohini, Safdarjung Madarsa, and Chintamani GT Road in Shahdara witnessed awareness sessions for nearly 975 two-wheeler riders and pillion passengers. The drive highlighted helmet use as a legal necessity and a life-saving measure to prevent head injuries.

Road Safety in Schools: Delhi Traffic Police engaged over 3,665 students and 87 teachers across multiple schools, including SKV Schools in Pooth Kalan, Gokulpuri Village, and Dilshad Garden, as well as MCD and Govt. Co-Ed schools. The sessions featured demonstrations, interactive discussions, and quiz competitions to instill safe road habits from an early age.

Bus Driver Training: Specialized training sessions were conducted at Rohini Sec. 37 and Nand Nagri Training School for 80 DTC and Cluster Bus drivers and 8 officers, focusing on safe braking, pedestrian safety, traffic law compliance, and courteous passenger behavior.

Auto, Taxi & E-Rickshaw Awareness: At Jor Bagh Metro Station, 22 drivers were sensitized on lane discipline, speed limits, proper halting, women’s safety, and passenger-friendly conduct to enhance public transport safety.

Women Riders Empowerment: At Traffic Training Park, Punjabi Bagh, women participants received training in safe riding techniques, promoting confidence and responsible road behavior.

Senior officials, including Special CP Traffic Shri Ajay Chaudhary and DCPs Shashank Jaiswal and S.K. Singh, lauded the initiatives, emphasizing their role in fostering discipline and safer roads across Delhi.

Delhi Traffic Police reiterates its commitment to making the city’s roads safer through awareness, education, and community engagement.
