Delhi Police Organizes Two-Day Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme under Child Safety Month Initiative

NEW DELHI, 01 JULY 2026: As per the vision of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Sardar Taranjit Singh Sandhu, towards building a safer Delhi, the Child Safety Month initiative is being organized through the collaborative efforts of the Directorate of Education (DoE), the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), and Delhi Police. The initiative is being implemented to strengthen child safety and protection across educational institutions in the National Capital.
As part of this initiative, Delhi Police has organized a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) programme for teachers at the Aadarsh Auditorium, Police Headquarters (PHQ), Delhi. The programme is being conducted in a hybrid mode, enabling participation through both physical and virtual platforms.
The programme comprises four batches, with each batch undergoing a half-day training session. The sessions are designed to strengthen awareness, build the capacity of educators, and enhance institutional preparedness for ensuring child protection and safety in educational settings.
The training programme covers a wide range of critical topics related to child safety and protection, including:
 Overview of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) guidelines;
 Guidelines on School Safety and Security;
 Cyber Safety and Awareness;
 Overview of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012; and
 Implementation of the POCSO Act under the Directorate of Education.
The Training of Trainers programme seeks to build awareness among educators and other stakeholders, promote child-friendly practices, and reinforce mechanisms for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of children in educational institutions.
The training programme is being conducted under the supervision of Ms. Neha Yadav, DCP/SPUWAC, who emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among various departments and agencies to create a safe and secure environment for children and to strengthen child protection mechanisms in schools.
This collaborative initiative reflects the commitment of the Government of NCT of Delhi, Delhi Police, the Directorate of Education, and SCERT towards strengthening child protection systems and fostering a culture of safety, awareness, and accountability in schools across the National Capital Territory.
