Delhi Police Marks World Health Day with Cancer Awareness & Screening Camp in New Delhi

New Delhi :On the occasion of World Health Day 2026, the Delhi Police Welfare Unit, in collaboration with the Delhi State Cancer Institute, organized a Cancer Awareness, Prevention & Screening Camp at the Police Headquarters on Jai Singh Road in New Delhi.

The initiative, held at the Officer’s Lounge, aimed at promoting early detection and spreading awareness about various forms of cancer among police personnel. The camp witnessed the participation of 76 personnel from different units of Delhi Police, who benefited from screening and expert guidance.

The event was graced by Rachna Golchha, President of the Police Families Welfare Society, and Dr. Pragya Shukla, Head of Department at the Delhi State Cancer Institute. Dr. Shukla conducted an informative session highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, lifestyle awareness, and preventive measures against cancers such as breast, cervical, and oral cancer.

The camp was organized under the supervision of senior officers, including  Rajeev Ranjan, Additional Commissioner of Police (Welfare), and Mayank Bansal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Welfare). Medical screenings conducted during the camp included tests for breast cancer, cervical cancer, oral cancer, and PSA blood tests.

The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on preventive healthcare within law enforcement agencies, ensuring that personnel who serve the public are also equipped with the knowledge and resources to safeguard their own health.
