New Delhi/Sanand, 10 September 2025 – Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation  Amit Shah  inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth approximately ₹66 crore in Gujarat’s Sanand Assembly constituency via video conferencing from New Delhi. The projects span afforestation, road construction, rural infrastructure, village amenities, and school development initiatives.

Addressing the program,  Shah congratulated NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan on his recent election as the 15th Vice President of India. He remarked that with  Radhakrishnan’s election, the nation’s constitutional offices now reflect India’s geographical unity: President Smt. Droupadi Murmu represents the East, Vice President  Radhakrishnan represents the South, and Prime Minister  Narendra Modi, hailing from Gujarat and representing Varanasi, embodies both West and North.

Shah highlighted Sanand’s rapid transformation under a structured development plan. “By 2029, not a single village in Sanand will lack basic amenities,” he said, noting initiatives to improve roads, healthcare, sanitation, drinking water, and afforestation in Bavla and Sanand municipalities. He added that industrial growth, particularly with the upcoming Dholera Special Investment Region, will position Sanand as the most industrially developed tehsil in Gujarat.

On water infrastructure, the Home Minister said that the first phase of providing irrigation and drinking water to 111 villages is nearly complete at an estimated cost of ₹750 crore. Further work, including household and field water supply, is planned at a projected cost of ₹1,000 crore. Additionally, around ₹150 crore has been allocated for CSR-driven development projects in the constituency, with priorities determined in consultation with local authorities and industrial stakeholders.

Shah also emphasized environmental initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. Citizens were urged to plant trees in villages, schools, and open municipal spaces. He praised the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency for achieving the highest number of tree plantations in Gujarat, under the Green Gandhinagar Project.

Highlighting India’s technological progress,  Shah referred to the recent SEMICON India 2025 event, where Prime Minister Modi unveiled India’s first fully developed 32-bit processor chip, Vikram-32. The Home Minister announced that Micron Technology will soon commence chip manufacturing in Sanand, adding a new dimension to the region’s industrial growth.

In total, 29 projects were inaugurated, 23 had their foundation stones laid, and development works worth approximately ₹66 crore were either initiated or completed. These projects span afforestation, village roads, school development, and rural road schemes.

Amit Shah concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to balanced regional development, industrial growth, and environmental sustainability, ensuring Sanand emerges as a model constituency for progress.
