Hamas’ attack on southern Israel on October 7 resulted in approximately 1,200 Israeli fatalities and the abduction of 251 people. During a week-long truce in November, Hamas released 105 civilians. However, about 120 hostages remain unaccounted for, with many presumed dead by Israeli officials.
