The Impressive TimesMumbai: Television actor and presenter Vipul Roy has approached the police after claiming that valuables including foreign currency and expensive jewellery were stolen from his residence in Mumbai’s Khar area.
According to the complaint, Roy discovered that cash in multiple foreign currencies along with gold and diamond ornaments were missing from a cupboard in his home. He suspects a domestic worker, recently employed through an online hiring platform, to be involved in the incident.
The actor stated that the suspected helper had previously worked at his residence and was re-engaged a few days before the missing items were noticed. The issue reportedly came to light when Roy checked his belongings before stepping out for work and found the storage space tampered with.
As per details shared in the complaint, the missing items include foreign currency valued at several lakhs in Indian rupees along with gold and diamond jewellery, collectively estimated at around ₹7 lakh.
Roy filed the report with Mumbai police, who have begun preliminary verification and are gathering information about the individual named in the complaint before moving forward with further action.
The actor has not issued any public statement on social media regarding the matter so far.
