Mumbai, August 9, 2024: The BSE Sensex jumped 824 points to reach 79,984.24 in early trade on Friday, with all sectoral indices trading in the green. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) also saw a significant rise, gaining 250.45 points to 24,367.45.
After experiencing high volatility over the past three sessions, with a steep drop of over 500 points on Thursday, the market rebounded strongly on Friday. The rally was driven by strong performances in Power, Realty, and Technology stocks, which surged by more than one percent.
The BSE recorded intraday highs and lows at 79,984.24 and 79,549.09 points, respectively. Similarly, the NSE saw its day’s high and low at 24,419.75 and 24,315.90 points.
Mid Cap and Small Cap indices also performed well, gaining 1.04% and 0.90%, respectively. All 30 Sensex stocks traded positively, with notable gains from Tata Motors, up 3.01% to Rs 1072.70, M&M up 2.63% to Rs 2753.10, Tech Mahindra up 1.87% to Rs 1493.90, HCL Technology up 1.87% to Rs 1587.30, and Bharti Airtel up 1.70% to Rs 1476.
