New Delhi- Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar on Monday flagged off the Delhi Police motorcycle contingent from Police Headquarters for a nationwide rally aimed at raising awareness about drug abuse and promoting a drug-free India. The initiative is being organised in connection with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026, which marks the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
The rally, coordinated by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), will bring together motorcycle contingents from Delhi Police, states and Union Territories in the northern region, and other Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). The campaign is being conducted under the theme “Say No to Drugs”.
The nationwide rally will be formally flagged off by the Union Home Minister at the National Police Memorial on October 21. Participants will travel approximately 1,300 kilometres by road to Ekta Nagar, also known as Kevadia, in Gujarat. The route includes night halts at Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Gandhinagar, with the contingents scheduled to reach their destination on October 25.

During the journey, riders will conduct awareness campaigns at educational institutions and public places in coordination with local police units. The activities will focus on highlighting the harmful effects of drug abuse and encouraging citizens, particularly young people, to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.
The main national-level celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas will take place on October 31 at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The motorcycle contingents will also participate in the Ekta Parade as part of the celebrations.
The Delhi Police contingent comprises eight riders, including five main participants and three reserve riders. The team has been equipped with safety gear, including riding jackets, trousers, gloves and shoes, to support safe travel during the long-distance rally.
Support vehicles, including a truck for transporting reserve motorcycles, an Ertiga and a minibus, will accompany the contingent to meet its logistical, administrative and media-related requirements.
Motorcycle teams from Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana and Punjab, along with their support personnel, are being accommodated at New Police Lines in Delhi. Delhi Police is facilitating their boarding and lodging arrangements to ensure their participation in the nationwide initiative.
As part of the public outreach campaign, riders are also scheduled to conduct awareness activities at prominent locations, including India Gate and the Red Fort. The initiative aims to strengthen public awareness about substance abuse and encourage collective efforts towards building a healthier, drug-free society.
