New Delhi- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will address the Gopalak Sammelan in Bhopal on October 3, where he is scheduled to launch and inaugurate several dairy and cooperative sector initiatives in Madhya Pradesh.
The event will be held at Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal and will be attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Shah will also inaugurate a State-Level Exhibition on the implementation of the new criminal laws, showcasing the work of the Madhya Pradesh Police under the Nyaya Sanhita framework.
During the programme, Shah will digitally lay the foundation stone for a new milk processing plant in Ujjain with a processing capacity of 3 lakh litres per day. The facility will be developed at an estimated cost of ₹255 crore.
He will also inaugurate a Product Dairy Plant in Bhopal, constructed at a cost of ₹16.5 crore, with a capacity of 40,000 litres per day.
A State-Level Central Laboratory worth ₹12.42 crore will also be inaugurated in Bhopal. In addition, strengthening works of the Mini Dairy Plant in Shivpuri, undertaken at a cost of ₹6.5 crore, will be inaugurated digitally.
The programme will also include the distribution of bonuses to members of the Bhopal and Indore Milk Unions through a single-click mechanism.
Financial assistance will be provided to Gaushalas, while members of Dairy Cooperative Societies will be felicitated. A total dividend of ₹15.10 crore will be distributed among members of dairy cooperative societies.
The event will also recognise the contribution of women livestock rearers, with ‘Gopalak Didis’ set to be felicitated during the sammelan. Two sanction letters under the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana will also be distributed.
As part of the programme, KRIBHCO and the Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board will exchange a Memorandum of Understanding for developing an urban forest in Bhopal under the ‘Morvan Project’.
The initiatives are aimed at strengthening dairy infrastructure, supporting livestock rearers and expanding the role of cooperative institutions in improving rural incomes.
The programme is being organised in line with the Centre’s vision of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’, with emphasis on strengthening cooperatives, improving dairy-sector infrastructure and enhancing the economic participation of farmers, milk producers and women members.
