Dr. Chhabil Dass Bhatia’s 96th Birth Anniversary Observed as ‘Prerna Diwas’

Faridabad: The 96th birth anniversary of late Dr. Chhabil Dass Bhatia, founder of the C Dass Group, was observed as ‘Prerna Diwas’ at the group’s corporate office in NIT-5 on Tuesday.

Members of the organisation paid floral tributes to Dr. Chhabil Dass Bhatia and remembered his contribution to education, social service and the welfare of underprivileged sections. Participants also pledged to carry forward the values and ideals that guided his life.

B.R. Bhatia, eldest son of Dr. Chhabil Dass Bhatia and Chairman of the C Dass Group, said his father believed that the true purpose of life lay not merely in personal success but in making a meaningful contribution to society. He said Dr. Chhabil Dass Bhatia consistently gave priority to education, social service and helping those in need.

“His belief was that a person should be recognised not by position or wealth, but by his contribution to society,” B.R. Bhatia said, adding that continuing his father’s values would be the most meaningful tribute to him. He said Prerna Diwas was also aimed at encouraging the younger generation to embrace social responsibility and the spirit of service. Group Director Mukesh Bhatia was also present on the occasion.

As part of the commemorative programme, the C Dass Foundation, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Charitable Trust and Radio Maharani jointly organised a plantation drive. Students of K.L. Mehta Women’s College planted saplings on the college campus and at Shivji Park in NIT.

The students pledged to promote greenery and contribute towards environmental conservation. Organisers said the plantation initiative reflected Dr. Chhabil Dass Bhatia’s vision of service and social welfare and sought to carry those values forward through community-oriented activities.
