NEW DELHI,06 JULY 2026: As part of the ongoing ‘Child Safety Awareness Month’ campaign, Delhi Police, under its ‘WE-CARE’ initiative, organised an impactful child safety awareness programme at CM Shri School, Amalwas, Jwalapuri, Delhi. The event aimed to educate young students on various aspects of personal safety, road safety, and cyber security through an engaging blend of awareness sessions, practical demonstrations, and interactive activities.
The programme commenced with a captivating performance by the Delhi Police Orchestra Band, whose patriotic songs enthralled the young audience and received an overwhelming response from the students. Following the performance by band, a series of interactive and informative sessions were conducted by the specialised teams from the Delhi Police.

The SPUWAC team delivered an informative session on self-defence, complemented by practical demonstrations of basic self-defence techniques to enhance the confidence and preparedness of the students in challenging situations.
The Traffic Unit sensitised students on essential road safety rules, pedestrian discipline and safe commuting practices. The Traffic Awareness Van displayed educational audio-visual content, reinforcing the importance of responsible road behaviour.

Staff from Cyber Police Station, Outer District, addressed the gathering on cyber safety, focusing on the threats of online financial scams, digital fraud, and the precautions children must adopt to protect themselves in the virtual world. Adding to the learning experience, the Delhi Police, Jan Sampark Vahan (Mobile Display Van) was stationed at the venue, screening multiple child-safety awareness videos that effectively communicated key messages.
To make the learning process more interactive and enjoyable, the police team organised a quiz questionnaire, followed by a lively Tug of War game that fostered team spirit among the children. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by more than 200 girl students, alongside their teachers and school staff.
Through the WE-CARE Initiative, Delhi Police continues to strengthen community engagement and empower children with the knowledge, confidence, and awareness necessary to ensure their safety and well-being.
