Chandigarh, May 29, 2026: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the upcoming International Yoga Day celebrations and issued necessary directions to officials for organising the event on a grand scale across the state.

According to officials, the state-level programme for this year’s International Yoga Day will be organised in Panchkula, while yoga-related events and awareness programmes will also be conducted at district, sub-division, and gram panchayat levels to ensure wider public participation.

The celebrations will be based on the theme announced by the Government of India — “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” — with a focus on promoting physical and mental well-being among people of all age groups.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of taking yoga to every section of society and encouraging citizens to adopt it as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Nayab Singh Saini said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yoga has gained global recognition and respect as India’s ancient cultural heritage. He added that the Haryana Government remains committed to connecting the younger generation with India’s traditional practices while working towards the vision of a healthier India and a healthier Haryana.

Officials were directed to ensure proper coordination and arrangements for the successful conduct of the programmes throughout the state.
