New Delhi, April 23, 2026:: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over a tragic road accident in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, in which 11 people lost their lives. Following the incident, the Prime Minister announced financial assistance for the families of the deceased.
According to the announcement, an amount of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each person who died in the accident. The support will be given through the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund to help the affected families cope with the loss.
The accident reportedly took place on Wednesday night when a truck lost control and collided with multiple vehicles, triggering a fire that led to several fatalities, including children.
Local administration and police officials reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated rescue and relief operations. The injured are being treated at nearby hospitals.
State leadership has also extended support measures along with financial aid for the victims, while investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the crash.
