New Delhi: Northern Railway organised its 373rd Management Development Programme (MDP) for senior supervisors at the Railway Safety Camp campus in Dharampur, Himachal Pradesh, from December 15 to December 19, 2025. A total of 42 participants from all divisions and departments of Northern Railway took part in the programme.
The Management Development Programme for senior supervisors was introduced on August 28, 1985, and has since become an important component of human resource development in Indian Railways. The programme aims to enhance managerial skills among supervisors, enabling them to bring positive changes in management practices at their respective levels and contribute to improved manpower productivity.
The MDPs are organised regularly every year. Since its inception, Northern Railway has conducted 373 such programmes, training a total of 14,534 supervisors across all departments. The Dharampur programme covered a wide range of topics, including environmental management, personal management, leadership, discipline and appeal rules, establishment rules, and time management.
Participants appreciated the comprehensive and practical approach of the sessions. Various interactive activities, including a quiz competition on railway-related topics, were also organised during the programme. The valedictory session was chaired by Northern Railway’s Senior Deputy General Manager, Arvind Nautiyal, who distributed certificates to all participants and commended their active participation.
