Faridabad,09 March ,2024– In a proactive move towards enhancing workplace safety and efficiency, the DLF Industries Association (DLFIA) organized a comprehensive training session on “Safety and Housekeeping” for managers and members of its industry cluster. The event, held at the TAP-DC Conference Hall on March 7, 2024, under the STRIVE Project of the Government of India/Government of Haryana, garnered significant attention from stakeholders.
Mr. JP Malhotra, President of DLFIA, emphasized the crucial role of safety measures in preventing accidents and minimizing losses. He highlighted that any workplace accident not only leads to a loss of man-hours and production but also impacts revenue. Stressing the importance of vigilance and proper protocols, Mr. Malhotra urged all resources within the company to prioritize safety measures, including fire safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
The training session, conducted by Mr. Kaushal Kishore, delved into various aspects of safety implementation within a company. Mr. Kishore introduced the Task Analyse’s method, emphasizing the steps of Select, Record, Examine, Develop, Install, and Maintain (SREDIM). He underlined the significance of identifying risks, conducting risk assessments, and implementing appropriate safety measures. Additionally, Mr. Kishore provided insights into effective housekeeping practices and fire prevention tips, promoting the adoption of 5S methodology in workplaces.
In his concluding remarks, Mr. JP Malhotra encouraged participants to embrace the safety agenda and strive for accident-free periods. He advocated for regular safety drills, prioritization of housekeeping, and monthly recognition of employees as motivation exercises. Mr. Malhotra emphasized that safety is everyone’s responsibility and urged a shift in attitude towards it.
The training session saw the participation of 26 representatives from member companies of DLFIA Industry Cluster, including Advance Forging Pvt. Ltd., Auto Start Pvt. Ltd., and Presto Stantest Pvt. Ltd. Notably, apprentices placed by DLFIA Cluster in CNC trades also attended, furthering their understanding of safety measures and protocols.
Feedback from participants highlighted the relevance and usefulness of the training, commending the trainer’s explanations and the conducive training environment provided by the TAP-DC Conference Hall. Participants also appreciated the reading material provided, acknowledging its utility for future reference in their respective workplaces.
The training session underscores DLFIA’s commitment to fostering a culture of safety and excellence among its member companies, setting a benchmark for industry best practices.
