Sonipat: Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan chaired the quarterly review meeting of the Women and Child Welfare Committee, where various key issues concerning child protection, women empowerment, and welfare schemes were discussed. The meeting aimed to assess the ongoing initiatives under the Women and Child Development Department and provide necessary directions for effective implementation. During the session, DC reviewed arrangements at Anganwadi Centers, Nutrition Gardens, Crèche Centers, and Child Care Centers, instructing officials to ensure proper maintenance and smooth functioning.

The discussion also covered child protection and safety, highlighting concerns related to child abuse, child labor, and violations of child rights. On the topic of women empowerment, the meeting focused on safeguarding women’s rights, strengthening empowerment programs, and ensuring the successful rollout of welfare schemes dedicated to women’s development.

DC also reviewed the implementation of various government policies and schemes under the department, emphasizing improved outreach and impact. The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Harshit Kumar, District Project Officer Praveen Kumari, Child Protection Officer Ritu Gill, Child Welfare Committee members Poonam and Babita, along with other senior officials.
