Lucknow | June 15- Over the past 48 hours, intense thunderstorms accompanied by severe lightning have claimed at least 25 lives across 14 districts in Uttar Pradesh. Among the deceased are women and children, many of whom were caught outdoors during their daily routines when the strikes occurred. The lightning-related fatalities were reported from rural and semi-urban regions, where vulnerable populations were engaged in farming, commuting, or household work. Officials are yet to release a full district-wise breakdown, but the worst-hit areas include Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, and Rae Bareli.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and has directed officials to:
