Faridabad, December 19-, 2023– The 33rd Annual Global Conclave of the International Institute of Security and Safety Management (IISSM) is being held from 19 to 20 December 2023 at Hotel Taj Vivanta, Surajkund, Faridabad. The conclave was inaugurated by lightning the lamp with the hands of distinguished guests, including Founder and Executive President of IISSM, former MP R.K Sinha, Chairman of IISSM and former Director General of National Crime Records Bureau SK Sharma, Chairman and former DGP of Assam Police GM Srivastava, Chairman Gopal P Choudhary, Director General and former Director General of NSG Rajan K Medhekar, Vice Chairman Major MS Grewal, GB Singh, Chief Advisor Professor Santosh Kumar and many others dignitaries were present. On this inaugural, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari was also present thorugh video conferencing. Minister Gadkari, in his inaugural session speech underscored the need for ecological stewardship and a focus on value-based education as essential pillars for India’s ascent on the world stage.

He extended his best wishes to the participants and expressed optimism about India’s potential to lead globally through a commitment to sustainability and education. R.K Sinha reflected on the institute’s founding principles. He recounted an encounter with the late Padmashree K. N. Prasad, the topper of the first batch of the Indian Police Service, back in 1989 when he was running a small security company in Patna. Prasad urged him to contribute to the upliftment of the security profession. Sinha emphasized that individuals entering the field of private security possess substantial knowledge about their domain. However, he highlighted the crucial gap in their understanding of the intricacies of the field and stressed the need for training programs to provide insights into client expectations from private security professionals. This, he believes, is essential for the overall advancement and professionalism of the security industry. During the conclave, Padmabhushan Chandi Prasad Bhatt, a globally renowned environmentalist, was specially honored for his contributions.

In addition, officials from several distinguished companies across the country were recognized and awarded certificates for their outstanding work. The ceremony showcased the institute’s commitment to acknowledging environmental leadership and corporate excellence. The honorees were commended for their noteworthy contributions to their respective fields, marking a key highlight of the ongoing conclave. The first day of the conclave delved into critical topics such as “Understanding Risks and Interlinkages: SDGs, Disasters, Climate Change, and Security,” “Strengthening Disaster Risk Governance: Public, Private, Corporate, Civil Society, and International Collaboration,” and “Business Continuity Planning for Business Recovery.” Panel discussions covered a range of subjects including planning, early warning, response, relief, preparedness, recovery, and knowledge management in response to humanitarian crises. The International Institute of Security and Safety Management (IISSM) was jointly established in 1990 by former Special Secretary Home Padmashree K. N. Prasad and Shri RK Sinha, former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha). Registered under the Indian Society Act in 1992, IISSM has been actively involved in education and professionalism within the safety, security, and loss prevention industry for over three decades. As an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute, IISSM conducts thematic courses for security professionals, organizes international conferences, seminars, safety and security audits, and provides consultancy services to the Government of India and corporates.

IISSM was established by former Special Secretary Home Padmashree K. N. Prasad and Shri RK Sinha, former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) jointly in 1990. IISSM is a non-profit educational institution registered in 1992 under the Indian Society Act. IISSM has been engaged in spreading education and professionalism in the safety, security and loss prevention industry for over three decades. IISSM is an ISO 9001:2015 certified institute. It runs thematic and various courses for security professionals. Organizes one international conference and several seminars a year. It conducts safety and security audits and provides consultancy services to the Government of India and corporates.
