Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Kannur airport this morning, on his way to Wayanad. He was welcomed at the airport by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and Minister of State for Tourism, Petroleum and Natural Gas, Suresh Gopi, along with other officials. From there, the Prime Minister is scheduled to travel to Wayanad by helicopter to conduct an aerial survey of the landslide-affected areas.
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi is expected to visit the Bailey Bridge constructed by the Army, a relief camp, and a local hospital where he will interact with survivors of the disaster.
Following these engagements, he will chair a review meeting where officials will provide a detailed briefing on the disaster and the ongoing search and relief operations. The Prime Minister is set to return to Kannur airport by evening before departing for New Delhi. This visit highlights the government’s commitment to providing support and ensuring effective response efforts in the aftermath of the disaster.
