Greater Noida, 20 July 2024: In a major boost to the environment, over 58,735 trees were planted in the Yamuna Authority region in a single day; The species planted include Neem, Jamun, Peepal, Pilkhan, Gulmohar, Chakresia, Banyan, Champa, and Ashoka.
The plantation drive was led by the dynamic CEO of the Yamuna Authority,
Dr. Arunvir Singh who planted a tree in the Sector-18 of the Pocket-2B park.He emphasized the importance of environmental responsibility and urged everyone not only to plant trees but also to ensure their preservation.
The exercise was a part of the UP Government initiative to enhance greenery in the state.
UP government has set a target of planting 365 million trees across the state for the year 2024-25. As a part of this initiative, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has been assigned the goal of planting 69,100 trees.
Every year, various tree plantation drives are organized, but this year is particularly notable due to the “One Tree for Mother” campaign initiated by Prime Minister Modi. He has urged everyone to plant a tree in honor of their mothers. The national theme for this year is “One Tree for Mother” and “Plant Trees, Save Trees,” which has inspired people across the country to participate enthusiastically in the plantation drives.
Prominent officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority who participated in the event include Additional Chief Executive Officers Kapil Singh and Vipin Kumar Jain, along with Shailendra Bhatia (Special Duty Officer), Shailendra Kumar Singh (Special Duty Officer), Rajesh Kumar (Special Duty Officer), A.K. Singh (General Manager, Projects), Vishambar Babu (General Manager, Finance), Ashok Kumar (Deputy General Manager, Finance), P.P. Singh (Senior Project Officer), Rajendra Singh Bhati (Deputy General Manager, Projects), Nand Kishore (Senior Staff Officer), and Anand Mohan Singh (Deputy Director, Horticulture). These officials demonstrated their commitment to environmental conservation by participating in the tree plantation.
