Ten pilgrims lost their lives and thirty-three others sustained injuries in terror attack

Ten pilgrims were killed and 33 others injured when their bus plunged into a gorge following a terror attack near Teryath village in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday evening. The bus was returning from the Shiv Khori cave shrine to Katra. According to Reasi SSP Mohita Sharma, the driver was struck by gunfire, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. The injured have been transported to hospitals in Teryath, Reasi, and Jammu.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the situation and instructed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to continuously monitor the situation and ensure comprehensive medical care and assistance for the injured pilgrims.

President Droupadi Murmu expressed deep sorrow over the terror attack on the pilgrim’s bus in Jammu and Kashmir. She described the attack as a heinous act and a crime against humanity, deserving the strongest condemnation. Praying for the swift recovery of the injured, President Murmu stated that the nation stands in solidarity with the victims’ families.

Union Minister Amit Shah also condemned the attack. He communicated with the Lieutenant Governor and the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir to inquire about the incident. Mr. Shah asserted that those responsible for this horrific attack would not be spared and would face the full force of the law.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh termed the attack on the pilgrims extremely reprehensible and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
