Tamil Nadu : The Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary (Class 12) Board Exams commenced today and will continue until March 25th. A total of 8,21,057 students from across the state are appearing for the examinations at 316 centres. These exams are a crucial milestone for students as they determine their higher education prospects and future career paths.
To ensure a smooth and fair examination process, the Tamil Nadu Education Department has put in place stringent security measures. Over 45,000 teachers have been assigned as invigilators, ensuring that the exams are conducted in a disciplined manner. In addition, more than 4,800 flying squad personnel have been deployed across exam centres to carry out surprise inspections and prevent any instances of malpractice. The department has strictly enforced a no-mobile phone policy, prohibiting the use of mobile phones and electronic gadgets inside exam halls for both students and staff.
Following the Class 12 exams, students appearing for the Class 11 (Higher Secondary First Year) Board Exams will begin their examinations on March 5th, which will continue until March 27th. Meanwhile, the Class 10 (SSLC) Board Exams are scheduled to start on March 28th and conclude on April 15th.
Given the significance of board exams in determining future academic and professional paths, students have been preparing rigorously. Schools have conducted revision classes, mock tests, and counseling sessions to help students perform well. The Tamil Nadu Education Department has also ensured that students receive the necessary academic and psychological support to handle exam pressure.
Tamil Nadu’s Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) has issued strict guidelines to prevent paper leaks and unfair practices. Officials have been instructed to maintain secrecy in handling question papers, and strong penalties will be imposed for any violations.
With lakhs of students striving for academic excellence, the Board Exams play a crucial role in shaping their future. Many students have expressed confidence in their preparation, while parents and teachers remain hopeful for a successful examination season. Education experts believe that the state government’s meticulous planning will help students perform well and reduce stress levels.
The results for the Class 12 Board Exams are expected to be announced in May, followed by the results for Class 10 and Class 11 in the subsequent weeks.
