In a decisive political move, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren on Sunday staked his claim to form the next government in Jharkhand. The decision followed a unanimous vote by INDIA bloc leaders in the state, electing Soren as the leader of the legislature party.
To meet constitutional protocols, Soren resigned as chief minister earlier in the day before approaching Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar with a letter of support from the alliance partners. The Governor formally invited Soren to form the government, setting the stage for a swearing-in ceremony scheduled for November 28.
Addressing the media after his meeting with the Governor, Soren expressed confidence in the coalition’s ability to deliver on its promises. “With the support of our alliance partners, we are ready to take Jharkhand forward. The upcoming government will work tirelessly for the progress of the state and its people,” he said.
The INDIA bloc’s show of unity in Jharkhand reflects the coalition’s strong footing in the region. The re-formation of the government is expected to prioritize social welfare, economic growth, and infrastructure development, signaling continued efforts to address the state’s key challenges.
The oath-taking ceremony on November 28 will mark the beginning of another term under Hemant Soren’s leadership, offering a renewed mandate for his vision of governance.
