Hemant Soren to Form Jharkhand Government After INDIA Bloc Support

Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren on Sunday advanced his bid to form the state government after receiving unanimous support from the INDIA bloc leaders, who elected him as the leader of the legislature party.

In a key development, Soren met Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar to formally stake his claim, presenting a letter of support from alliance partners. Shortly before this, he submitted his resignation as chief minister, a procedural step required before being reappointed.

Speaking to the press after his meeting with the Governor, Soren shared, “I have officially staked claim to form the government, and the Governor has extended an invitation to us. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for November 28.”

This political milestone underscores the stability within the INDIA bloc in Jharkhand, with allied parties aligning behind Soren’s leadership for a new term. The alliance promises to focus on inclusive governance and developmental initiatives aimed at uplifting the people of the state.

With a seamless transition anticipated, the focus now shifts to the ceremonial oath-taking event and the policies the re-elected government will prioritize.

The upcoming government will work tirelessly for the progress of the state and its people,” he said.
