In Kerala, the IMD has issued an orange alert today for six districts, indicating the possibility of very high rainfall. These districts include the hilly regions of Wayanad and Idukki, as well as Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod. Tomorrow, a red alert has been issued for the districts of Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur, signaling extremely heavy rainfall. Additionally, an orange alert is in effect for Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Palakkad, and Kasaragod.
The IMD has also issued a high-wave alert for several coastal areas of Kerala and the Lakshadweep islands, specifically Agatti, Amini, Androth, Kavaratti, and Minicoy. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea due to rough conditions.
