IMD has issued a ‘red alert’ for Delhi and Uttar Pradesh due to a heatwave, while heavy rainfall is expected in the Northeast

India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert in multiple northern states including Delhi, UP, Haryana, and Punjab amid severe heatwave conditions in several districts. The alert was issued on Monday as the IMD continues to monitor the prevailing heatwave conditions in Delhi and its neighboring states. Earlier warnings from the weather agency indicated that severe heatwave conditions would persist in Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh until June 19.
