Hry conducts more than 51,000 programs under CM Manohar Lal’s leadership

Haryana receives National Award for its outstanding performance during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, secured third position in the nation
New Delhi, Oct 31 – Haryana has achieved significant milestones in the nationwide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, earning the honour of being ranked third in the country for the multitude of programs organized during this celebration. Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi presented the National Award to the state in recognition of significant achievements. Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh Sanjeev Kaushal, received this award during the closing ceremony of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Amrit Kalash Yatra in New Delhi today.
A jury was convened to select the best-performing States and Union Territories for the awards, and after comprehensive evaluation, Haryana was recommended as the third best performing State in the country. The Information, Public Relations and Language Department of the state was entrusted with the role of being the nodal department for organizing programs under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal congratulated the IPR department on this achievement and said that the state should continue to achieve similar achievements in future also. He said that this department is also giving commendable cooperation to other departments in making the government policies and programs available to the general public and also in implementing many programs and schemes.
After receiving the award, Chief Secretary Sh Sanjeev Kaushal said that in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, a two-year nationwide celebration was held as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. In addition, Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign was launched, which has now concluded. This significant event was organized as a tribute to the sacrifices and contributions of those who fought for India’s independence and worked diligently to establish a self-reliant nation. He highlighted that the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was a massive nationwide endeavor, with an active participation from the entire government and society.
He stated that under the dynamic leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal, a multitude of programs were conducted in the state as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, spanning from March 12, 2021, to October 31, 2023. Detailed information about these programs was made available on the dedicated Mahotsav website. He also mentioned that news clippings and social media posts from various programs held during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav have been compiled into PDF files. These compilations offer a comprehensive view of the significant activities that took place in the state to commemorate this historic occasion. This collection will serve as a valuable resource to gain insights into the state’s contributions to India’s celebration of 75 years of independence.
  Giving information about the programs organized under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Director General of Information, Public Relations and Language Department and Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Aggarwal said that the programs, which lasted for two years, were divided into three parts by the Government of India, in which the first One part was dedicated to the heroes of the country’s independence, in the second part a special campaign was run to hoist the tricolor at every house and in the third part the Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign was run.
  Dr. Amit Agrawal said that more than 51,000 programs were conducted in Haryana as part of the Mahotsav, with detailed information available on the Mahotsav website. Out of these, around 32,000 programs were showcased on the website. These programs played a crucial role in identifying over 1000 unsung heroes, many of whom were previously unknown. Among these remarkable individuals were the brave people of Rohnat village in Bhiwani district, who consistently resisted British rule and made the ultimate sacrifice. The tricolor had not been raised in this village for many years until Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal led the efforts to free the villagers from the shackles of colonial rule.
Furthermore, shila pattikas were installed in 6,841 villages and 88 municipal bodies to commemorate this historic occasion. Through the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, approximately 70 lakh flags were hoisted on houses in 2022, and this number increased to 74 lakh in 2023. These initiatives have played a significant role in celebrating India’s 75 years of independence.
Haryana achieves records in the past as well
Haryana has taken the lead in organizing programs for the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. One notable event within this celebration was the Gita Mahotsav, where four new records were achieved with the participation of millions of people in Surya Namaskar. These records included the Guinness World Record, World Book of Records London, Amazing Olympia World Record, and Golden Book of World Records. The focus of this initiative during the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence was to convey the message of preserving the country’s culture to the people through Surya Namaskar, emphasizing the significance of cultural preservation and heritage during this momentous occasion.
Five special books were published
During the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in Haryana, five special books were published. These books were produced by the Haryana Sahitya Akadmi and Punjabi Sahitya Akadmi in commemoration of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. In addition to special editions, the journals of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, Haryana Samvad, and Haryana Review in Punjabi were also published to mark this significant occasion.
Amrit Vatikas created for a sustainable future
Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal, a tree plantation campaign was initiated at both the village and urban levels throughout the state. This campaign included awareness programs to encourage the planting of more trees, resulting in the planting of several lakh saplings across the state. A significant aspect of this initiative was the establishment of Amrit Vatikas, which were dedicated to the memory of the martyrs. Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal’s unique and thoughtful approach was to connect the perpetuation of martyrs’ memories with the concept of Amrit Vatika, making it a distinct and innovative undertaking.
