Barbora Krejcikova has reached her first Women’s Singles final at Wimbledon

Czech 31st seed Barbora Krejcikova secured her first Women’s Singles final at Wimbledon after a comeback victory over Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina in the semifinals in London last night. Krejcikova defeated Rybakina 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, setting up a final clash with Italy’s Jasmine Paolini scheduled for tomorrow, July 13.

In another semifinal, seventh-seeded Italian Jasmine Paolini advanced to the final after a hard-fought match against Croatia’s Donna Vekic, winning 2-6, 6-4, 7-6.

Meanwhile, in the men’s singles, defending champion Carlos Alcaraz is set to face Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals today. Third-seeded Spaniard Alcaraz reached the semifinals with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 victory over USA’s Tommy Paul. Medvedev, the 5th-seeded Russian and 2021 US Open champion, secured his place in the semifinals with a win over top-seeded Italian Jannik Sinner.

In the other men’s semifinal today, seven-time champion and second-seeded Serbian Novak Djokovic will take on 25th-seeded Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who is making his first appearance at this stage of a Major tournament in his career.
