Hard work and concentration are the keys to success: IAS Faiz Kidwai

First Mati Career Meet organized at Jamia Millia Islamia under the aegis of Mati Trust and University Placement Cell

New Delhi , 16 Oct , 2024 : “Hard work and concentration are the keys to success, jobs have not decreased but the eligibility criteria have changed with time, so you have to make yourself capable as per the time and demand”, said Faiz Kidwai, an IAS officer and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture who was speaking as Chief Guest in the Maati career meeting held in Jamia Millia, New Delhi. He said that there is a lot of hard work in UPSC but the experience of diverse works and services, recognition and respect for the post here, is not found in any other job, hence one should not lose courage.
Executive Director of Railway Board, Vivek Kumar Yadav and Director of Piramal Foundation, Dr. Manish Mishra participated as special guests of the program. Prof A Q Ansari of the Engineering Department and Maati Convenor Asif Azmi welcomed the guests, while Professor Rahela Farooqui, Director of Jamia Placement Cell, proposed the vote of thanks.
Parimal Foundation’s director, Dr. Manish Mishra said that today’s students should do skill based courses along with degrees so that they can get world class jobs. He especially inspired the social work students and suggested them to explore their career in this field. Along with explaining the importance of entrepreneurship, he also inspired the students to take advantage of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme.
Railway Board Executive Director Vivek Yadav spoke about the preparation for examinations and competitions, especially for engineering services. More than 150 students from Jamia, DU and JNU participated in the meet.
