Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies Receives Prestigious Grant from Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology

Faridabad, 16th July 2024 – Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS) has been awarded the Electronic Design and Automation (EDA) tool grant under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology’s Chips to Startup (C2S) Program. This grant will empower MRIIRS to enhance its capabilities in VLSI (Very-Large-Scale Integration) design and embedded systems, contributing to the development of industry-ready manpower specialized in these critical areas.

The grant will support existing programs for B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, VLSI, Integrated Circuit, Embedded System, Electronic System Design, or equivalent at MRIIRS. MRIIRS was considered for this grant as it possesses the necessary infrastructure and capital equipment for VLSI design labs, along with dedicated faculty members and professionals in the VLSI design domain.

Pursuant to this grant, MRIIRS will conduct 15 short-term VLSI Design projects, each with a duration of 4 weeks, over the next three years. The program aims to train at least 273 industry-ready manpower, including PhD, M.Tech, and B.Tech students with specializations in VLSI and Embedded System Design. This initiative will involve extensive use of the EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools provided by the ChipIN Centre under the C2S Programme for teaching, instruction, and research purposes.
