Counting of votes will be conducted under strict security: DC Nishant Kumar Yadav

Three layer security will be protecting the area • Entry of common man will be prohibited

Gurugram, May 30th, 2024 : Deputy Commissioner cum election officer of the area Nishant Kumar Yadav said that the counting of votes would be conducted at government girl’s college Sohna, Badshahpur, Pataudi and Gurgaon under strict security arrangements. During the counting of votes, entry of common man would be strictly prohibited.
Yadav was in an online meeting with the Chief Election officer Haryana Anurag Agrawal by video conferencing. He said that the preparations for the process of counting are at the final stage. Very soon the duties of counting staff will be deputed using randomization process by computer. In addition to the current ARO, ADC Hitesh Kumar Meena and CEO Jila Parishad Jagniwas in the capacity of ARO would be present at the counting center. In both the counting centers there would be 28 tables each.

While the counting center at Sohna and Gurgaon assembly areas the counting center would be having 14 tables each. The counting of postal ballet paper and ETPBS would be conducted at the library hall of the college. At this counting center additional labour commissioner Kushal Kataria would be functioning as ARO. A micro observer will also be appointed at each table.
DC Nishant Kumar Yadav said that all the counting centers would be secured by barricading. There would be three rings of security at every counting center. CCTV cameras are being installed at every center. The counting would also be recorded in video. Postal ballots would be scanned before starting counting. On the table of counting of postal ballot one ARO, Micro observer, two assistants and a counting supervisor will be present. In the seminar hall of the college building media center would be made ready for the convenience of the media personnel covering the news of counting.

During the meeting chief election officer Anurag Agrawal instructed that the data of postal ballot and votes counted should be accurate. The process of randomization should be totally transparent and without any preferences. Every employee should perform the duty that has been assigned to him.
