The Impressive TimesCongress MP Rahul Gandhi declared that the party will back the NDA’s choice for Speaker of the Lok Sabha, but he emphasized the custom that the opposition should be appointed Deputy Speaker.
After reaching an understanding with the ruling BJP-led NDA, sources disclosed that the opposition will not put up a candidate for the office of Speaker of the Lok Sabha. The choice was made in response to attempts to reach an agreement made by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
