RSS Highlights Manipur Unrest and North-South Divide at ABPS Meeting

Bengaluru, Mar 21 ,2025 :  At the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) in Bengaluru on Friday, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader CR Mukunda highlighted the ongoing turmoil in Manipur and expressed concerns over attempts to create divisions along regional and linguistic lines.

Mukunda acknowledged that despite multiple political and administrative interventions by the central government, the situation in Manipur has remained unstable for nearly 20 months. However, he noted that recent efforts have provided a ray of hope. He emphasized the need for continued initiatives to rebuild trust and restore peace in the region.

Addressing the growing North-South and linguistic divide, Mukunda warned against forces attempting to disrupt national unity by exploiting these differences, especially in the context of ongoing delimitation discussions. He assured that RSS workers are actively promoting social harmony, with special attention to southern states.

Shifting focus to cultural matters, Mukunda emphasized the significance of the Mahakumbh at Prayagraj, describing it as a historic event that fostered cultural pride and self-confidence within Hindu society, both in India and globally. He praised the infrastructural improvements made by the Uttar Pradesh government and the Union government, which enabled the smooth execution of such a grand event.

He also highlighted key welfare initiatives undertaken during the Mahakumbh, such as ‘Sakshyam,’ a public health program that conducted 2,37,964 eye check-ups, provided 1,63,652 free spectacles, and facilitated 17,690 cataract surgeries. Additionally, he mentioned the ‘One Thaali, One Thaili’ (One Plate, One Non-Plastic Bag) campaign, which gained significant national and international media attention.

Reflecting on historical legacies, Mukunda noted the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilya Bai Holkar, celebrated last year. Various organizations conducted discussions, both online and offline, to revisit her administrative contributions and their relevance in empowering women’s leadership in governance and social reform.

Concluding his address, Mukunda announced that a detailed report on the discussions and insights from the ABPS meeting will be released soon.
