Hayer Pushes for Infrastructure Development in Punjab

Seeks Flyovers and Road Widening in Barnala City; Gadkari Promises to Address Concerns

New Delhi, July 27 2024 :  Member Parliament from Sangrur Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer has raised three important issues related to National Highways passing through his constituency with the Union Transport and Highways Minister Mr. Nitin Gadkari. In a positive response, the union Minister assured to give consideration to the issues personally raised by the Member Parliament.

Mr Hayer demaned for construction of flyover over National Highway 703 at Cheema-Jodhpur crossing, as for the residents of both Cheema and Jodhpur villages it is troublesome to cross the road near Bus stand and in absence of the flyover, it has always carried the danger of happening of accidents. Mr. Hayer said that similarly there is an urgent need for the construction of a flyover on Barnala-Sangrur National Highway 64 near Badbar. From this road point, a seperate road goes to Longowal-Sunam, due to which this stretch witnesses huge traffic jams. That is why there is a need for the construction of a flyover on priority basis.

Raising the third issue, the MP demanded for widening of two roads connected to the city bypass on highways going towards Barnala-Moga, Sangrur and Bathinda. One road is 7.5 km long which streches from Barnala Jail to Handiaya Chowk crossing through ITI Chow of Barnala city. The second road is from ITI Chow to Handhiaya with a length of three and a half kilometres. The Member Parliament demanded the widening of these two roads for smooth flow of traffic.
In a positive gesture, the Union Minister assured Mr Hayer that these issues will be resolved.
