New Delhi , 19 July , 2024 : Air India is operating a relief flight from Mumbai to assist passengers of its Delhi-San Francisco flight, who have been stranded at Krasnoyarsk International Airport in Russia since Thursday due to a technical issue.
The airline announced on the microblogging site X that regulatory approvals for the relief flight had been secured. Local support was activated to assist the stranded passengers, who are currently confined to the terminal building as they lack Russian visas.
Food and beverage amenities, initially closed for the evening, have been reopened, and meals are being provided to all passengers. Representatives from the Indian consulate in Moscow are working with Russian authorities to arrange hotel accommodations for passengers.
