The Impressive TimesNew Delhi, November 9, 2023: US Secretary of Defence, Lloyd Austin, is embarking on a significant visit to India, set for November 09 and 10, 2023. During his visit, he will co-chair the India-US 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue and engage in crucial bilateral discussions with Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh. Secretary Austin will receive a warm welcome in New Delhi, commencing with a Tri-service Guard of Honour ceremony at the Palam Technical Area.
The highlight of this diplomatic rendezvous is the Ministerial 2+2 Dialogue, where Secretary Austin and US Secretary of State, Mr. Antony Blinken, will collaborate with Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, and Minister of External Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar on November 10. The dialogue is expected to delve into a spectrum of strategic, defense, and technology issues. Following the 2+2 Dialogue, Secretary Austin will engage in a bilateral meeting with Defence Minister. It is worth noting that Secretary Austin had last visited India in June 2023 and had productive discussions with Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh. This upcoming visit holds immense significance for strengthening the India-US relationship and addressing pertinent global concerns.
