Mumbai, March 27, 2026: Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has revealed that his young daughter faced a medical condition affecting her hip development, sharing details of the challenging phase while emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and awareness among parents.

Speaking about the experience, the actor said his daughter was diagnosed with a condition that impacts the alignment of the hip joint, leading to difficulty in normal movement such as walking and running. The issue was identified when she was still very young, prompting timely medical intervention.

He explained that the condition caused imbalance in leg movement, which could have long-term consequences if left untreated. According to him, early detection played a crucial role in managing the situation effectively.

The child underwent a corrective medical procedure, after which she had to remain in a specialised body cast for several weeks. The actor described this period as emotionally demanding, especially seeing such a young child adjust to restricted mobility.

He further shared that the recovery process is progressing well, and his daughter is now gradually returning to normal movement after the removal of the cast.

Highlighting the larger issue, the actor pointed out that awareness about such conditions is still limited in many parts of India, even though effective treatment options are available when diagnosed at the right time.

He urged parents to remain attentive to early developmental signs in children, particularly related to posture, walking patterns, or uneven limb movement, and to seek medical advice without delay if anything appears unusual.

The actor clarified that he chose to speak publicly not for sympathy but to inform and educate others, stressing that such conditions are treatable and should not be ignored.

Medical experts note that this hip-related disorder can either be present at birth or develop during early growth stages, and in some cases may affect one or both joints. Early screening significantly improves outcomes.

On the personal front, the actor also reflected on how fatherhood has changed his perspective, describing the experience as deeply transformative and emotionally grounding.
