New Delhi, June 1: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results for the Select List Year 2019 under the Combined Stenographers’ (Grade ‘B’/Grade-I) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for the years 2019, 2020, and 2021.
The recommendations have been made on the basis of candidates’ performance in the written examination conducted in December 2025 and the subsequent evaluation of service records completed in May 2026.
According to UPSC, successful candidates have been recommended for appointment to various stenographers’ services, including the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service, Indian Foreign Service (Branch ‘B’), Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers’ Service, Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers’ Service, and the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation.
For the Central Secretariat Stenographers’ Service, four candidates have been recommended against 287 notified vacancies. In the Indian Foreign Service (Branch ‘B’) category, five candidates have secured recommendations against 19 vacancies.
The Armed Forces Headquarters Stenographers’ Service recorded the highest number of recommendations, with 16 candidates selected against 24 vacancies. Four candidates have been recommended for the Railway Board Secretariat Stenographers’ Service, while one candidate has been recommended for appointment to the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation.
UPSC clarified that the final selection and category-wise allocation of candidates will be determined in accordance with reservation guidelines issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The outcome will remain subject to decisions in ongoing court proceedings, including matters related to the Jarnail Singh case pending before the Supreme Court.
Candidates seeking further information can contact the UPSC Facilitation Counter during working hours. The Commission has also stated that detailed marks, cut-off scores, and related information will be uploaded on its official website within fifteen days after the declaration of final results for all select list years covered under the examination.
The result forms part of the recruitment process for departmental candidates seeking promotion to higher stenographic positions across various central government services and departments.
