Lucknow, 3 April 2026; Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that over 81,000 personnel will be recruited for the state police force in 2026; covering positions such as sub-inspector, constable (civil police), radio assistant operator, computer operator Grade-A, and sub-inspector of police (Confidential). Some recruitment processes have already begun.
During a review meeting at his official residence, Yogi Adityanath instructed the transfer of personnel posted for extended periods at key locations in Lucknow, including Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister’s residence. He emphasized transparent, technology-driven recruitment completed within the stipulated timeframe and in line with reservation provisions, aiming to strengthen the police force and provide employment opportunities for youth.
The Chief Minister directed that Police Response Vehicles be positioned at strategic points with consistent deployment to reduce the average response time, currently around six minutes. Focus was placed on data-driven patrolling, field coordination, and deployment of additional vehicles as needed.
Reviewing fire and emergency services, Yogi Adityanath highlighted that approximately 42,000 fires were controlled and property worth around ₹800 crore safeguarded during 2025-26. He called for at least one hydraulic fire tender per district and a public awareness campaign to prevent summer fire incidents.
On cybercrime management, officials reported that ₹425.7 crore was secured through technical interventions, and the Cyber Helpline 1930’s call capacity rose from 1,709 to 7,467 calls per day, with 59% effectively resolved. The Chief Minister emphasized faster, technology-based action against cybercrime and a statewide awareness campaign to protect public finances and digital safety.
