Union Minister holds meeting with state and UT counterparts to assess readiness and accelerate rural development goals

New Delhi: Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting with Ministers of Rural Development from States and Union Territories to review preparedness for the ‘Viksit Bharat – G RAM G’ initiative.

The meeting focused on assessing the readiness of states to implement key rural development programmes aligned with the broader vision of Viksit Bharat. Discussions centred on strengthening grassroots infrastructure, enhancing livelihoods, and ensuring effective delivery of welfare schemes in rural areas.

Chouhan emphasised the importance of coordinated efforts between the Centre and states to achieve inclusive and sustainable development. He urged state representatives to adopt innovative approaches, leverage technology, and ensure transparency in implementation.

The Union Minister highlighted that the ‘Viksit Bharat – G RAM G’ initiative aims to transform rural India by improving connectivity, boosting local economies, and empowering communities through targeted interventions.

Officials also reviewed progress on ongoing schemes, identified challenges, and discussed strategies to accelerate outcomes. Best practices from various states were shared to encourage replication and scalability.

The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening rural governance and ensuring that development reaches the last mile, contributing to the vision of a developed and self-reliant India.
