Noida, March 28, 2026; Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the Indian National Congress and Samajwadi Party of keeping the Noida International Airport project buried in files from 2004 to 2014, delaying its development despite its strategic importance for the region.
Speaking at the inauguration of Phase I of the airport in Jewar, PM Modi emphasized that the project, now realized, would significantly enhance connectivity for the Delhi-NCR region and act as a catalyst for economic growth, tourism, and regional development. He contrasted the decade of inaction under previous governments with the rapid execution achieved under the current administration.
The Prime Minister underscored that the airport will serve key cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Mathura, and Agra, and strengthen India’s position as a global aviation hub. He further stressed that timely infrastructure development is critical to meeting the needs of a growing population and expanding economic opportunities in the region.
