Telangana CM Revanth Reddy sets ambitious 36-Month timeline for Musi Riverfront Development

 Hyderabad, January 03,2024 – Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued a directive for the completion of the Musi Riverfront development within the next 36 months. In a comprehensive review meeting with HMDA officials at the Nanakramguda office on Tuesday, the Chief Minister outlined specific plans for the first phase, focusing on a 55-kilometer stretch within the limits of Hyderabad.

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the need for an inclusive and iconic design for the Musi Riverfront. He urged officials to consider amenities such as amusement parks, waterfalls, children’s water sports, street vendors, business areas, shopping malls, and more, catering to diverse sections of society. The Chief Minister instructed officials to draw inspiration from riverfront development projects in other states and countries.

Authorities have been directed to initiate the related work within the next three months, with measures in place to redirect rainwater into the Musi for effective flood management. CM Revanth Reddy stressed the importance of a cautious approach to avoid any hindrances in the Musi Riverfront development.

As part of the ambitious project, a tourism circuit will be designed, connecting historical landmarks like Charminar, Taramati Baradari, and other attractions along the Musi catchment areas. The Chief Minister instructed officials to formulate plans for executing this project in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode.

Key officials, including Secretary to Municipal Administration D Kishore, HMDA Joint Commissioner Amrapali, CM OSD Ajith Reddy, participated in the review meeting. The development initiative aims to transform the Musi Riverfront into a vibrant and inclusive space for both residents and tourists alike.
