DPS Greater Faridabad Celebrates World Environment Day with a Green Commitment and AI Innovation in Classrooms

Faridabad, 05 June:  “The Earth is what we all have in common.” – Wendell Berry, In the spirit of this profound thought, DPS Greater Faridabad celebrated World Environment Day with a meaningful Plantation Drive within the school campus.

The drive was led by the respected Principal Dr. Bindu Sharma, joined by Ms. Meena Kumar, STEM Resource Person, Ms. Neha Pande, Senior School Coordinator, Ms. Chanchal Chandna, Examination Controller, along with the enthusiastic participation of students and staff.

While planting a sapling, Dr. Bindu Sharma shared her vision of a happier and greener planet for all and reminded everyone that caring for the environment is a shared duty and a moral responsibility.

Following this green initiative, on June 5, 2025, DPS Greater Faridabad pulsed with dynamic energy and progressive ideas during the STEM District Level Deliberation (DLD) on “AI in Everyday Classrooms.” The event welcomed educators from leading schools across Faridabad, all committed to exploring how Artificial Intelligence can be seamlessly integrated into daily teaching practices. The DLD aimed to inspire and equip teachers with innovative AI-based strategies that enhance classroom learning experiences. The session was witnessed by teachers from various prestigious schools of Faridabad.

 

The session kicked off with an inspiring workshop by Ms. Meenu Kumar, AI Facilitator, CBSE resource person, and author. During the workshop, Ms. Kumar introduced participants to a range of AI tools tailored for educators, along with a hands-on session on Orange Data Mining. She also shared engaging AI-based project ideas that can be easily implemented in classrooms to help students develop a foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence in a practical and creative manner.

Adding depth to the workshop, industry experts Ms. Monika Sikka, Chief Customer Experience Officer (CCXO) at Zoftware, and Mr. Akash Dubey, CTO and Co-founder of Zoftware, guided the teachers in designing their own educational chatbot, enabling them to apply newly gained knowledge in a practical, hands-on manner. Teachers learned to create bots that offer personalized doubt-solving and structured homework support. The hands-on workshop introduced Large Language Models (LLMs), bot design, content training, deployment, and ethical considerations.

Dr. Bindu Sharma, Principal, DPS Greater Faridabad, along with the resource persons, extended their heartfelt congratulations to all participants for successfully completing the training and becoming ambassadors of experiential STEM learning in their schools.

The session culminated in a shared sense of accomplishment and networking, with teachers walking away inspired and equipped to bring social change as well as create magic in everyday classrooms.
