Maha Fuel Prices Ease Slightly Amid Market Fluctuations

Mumbai, June 4 : Fuel prices in Maharashtra saw a slight dip on Wednesday amid ongoing fluctuations in the global crude oil market, offering some respite to consumers grappling with rising daily expenses and inflation. The state’s updated petrol and diesel rates were announced early this morning at 6 am and communicated across Maharashtra’s cities.

Petrol prices in most parts of the state now hover just above ₹104 per litre, while diesel rates remain above ₹91 per litre in many areas. In Ahmednagar, petrol is priced at ₹104.59 per litre, with diesel at ₹91.12. Similarly, Akola’s petrol stands at ₹104.64 and diesel at ₹91.18 per litre, while Amravati recorded petrol at ₹104.88 and diesel at ₹91.41 per litre. Aurangabad’s petrol price is ₹104.53 with diesel at ₹91.05 per litre. In Bhandara and Beed, petrol costs ₹104.67 and ₹105.50 respectively, with diesel prices at ₹91.21 and ₹92.03 per litre.

Other cities including Buldhana, Chandrapur, Dhule, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Hingoli, Jalgaon, Jalna, Kolhapur, Latur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nanded, Nandurbar, Nashik, Osmanabad, Palghar, Parbhani, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Satara, Sindhudurg, Solapur, Thane, Wardha, Washim, and Yavatmal show petrol prices ranging from ₹103.50 in Mumbai to ₹105.97 in Nandurbar. Diesel prices vary between ₹90.03 in Mumbai and ₹99.43 in Palghar.

These ongoing price fluctuations are primarily influenced by the volatile international crude oil market, along with local factors such as state Value Added Tax (VAT), transportation charges, and other state-specific taxes. The daily revisions of fuel prices are designed to reflect these changing market conditions accurately.

For consumers, this slight reduction in petrol and diesel rates provides modest financial relief, especially given that fuel costs directly impact household budgets and broader inflation trends. Fuel price changes also influence transportation costs and the pricing of goods and services across the economy.

Maharashtra’s fuel prices, like those in other Indian states, are linked closely to the international crude oil benchmark rates, which experience regular volatility due to geopolitical events, supply-demand dynamics, and currency fluctuations.

Citizens across Maharashtra are advised to check the latest fuel prices in their respective cities before refueling to stay informed about the current rates. As fuel prices continue to be revised daily, motorists should keep an eye on updates to better plan their travel and expenses.
