CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announces Developmental Projects in Rampur Assembly Constituency

Sarahan, Shimla, March 15, 2024– During a public meeting held at Sarahan in the Rampur tehsil of Shimla district, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu unveiled a series of developmental projects amounting to a total of Rs. 165 crore for the Rampur Assembly Constituency. Among the significant announcements made were the establishment of a sub-tehsil in the Pandra-Bees area of Rampur, the construction of a bus stand and shopping complex in Nankhari, and the renaming of the Nalati Stadium in Rampur after former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh.

In addition to these initiatives, the Chief Minister also declared the renaming of Middle School Kinnu in honor of Martyr Pawan Dhangal and the establishment of an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Badhawli. Other projects include the construction of a parking lot for vehicles in Rampur and a Rs. 50 lakh allocation for the rejuvenation of Sarpara Lake.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sukhu questioned the motives behind the support received by rebel MLAs and raised concerns about external financing influencing their actions. He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing it of resorting to unethical practices to seize power from the Congress government.

Highlighting the government’s achievements, Chief Minister Sukhu emphasized the fulfillment of various promises, including the provision of Rs. 1,500 per month to women above 18 years of age, restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), and the launch of the Rajiv Gandhi Start-up Yojana with a budget of Rs. 680 crore to promote self-employment among youth.

The Chief Minister also underlined initiatives such as the introduction of English medium in government schools, the increase in procurement prices of cow and buffalo milk, and the enhancement of support prices for organically produced wheat and maize.

Moreover, Chief Minister Sukhu highlighted the implementation of the Mukhya Mantri Sukh Aarogya Yojana, offering free medical treatment to individuals above 70 years of age, and the raise in wages for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) workers by Rs. 60.

The event witnessed the Chief Minister paying obeisance at the Bhima Kali temple in Sarahan.

Welcoming the Chief Minister, PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh expressed gratitude for the dedication of projects amounting to approximately Rs. 100 crore under the PWD department.

Nand Lal, Chairman of the State Planning Commission, extended appreciation to the Chief Minister for inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for long-pending development projects.

Earlier, Chief Minister Sukhu inaugurated around 25 development projects worth Rs. 165 crore in Sarahan for the Rampur Assembly Constituency. These projects included the inauguration of a Trauma Centre at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical Service Complex (MGMSC) in Khaneri, a Science Block at PG College Rampur, and a Sports Complex at Duttnagar.

Additionally, foundation stones were laid for various infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and civic amenities in the region.
