New Delhi, March 12,2025: In a bid to enhance road safety and promote responsible driving practices, the Delhi Traffic Police conducted multiple awareness programmes across various locations in the city. These initiatives aimed to educate cyclists, bus drivers, and the general public on traffic rules, women’s safety, and responsible road usage.
The Road Safety Cell of Delhi Traffic Police recently organized special awareness sessions at the Traffic Training Park, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, as part of its ongoing road safety initiative. A total of 153 students and 12 teachers from K.R. Mangalam World School, Greater Kailash actively participated in the program.
During these sessions, students learned about crucial road safety aspects, including traffic signals, pedestrian safety, road signs, and the necessity of wearing helmets and seat belts. They were also trained in safe road-crossing techniques, responsible cycling habits, lane discipline, and the risks of reckless behavior. Special emphasis was placed on women’s safety, safe public transport practices, and emergency helpline numbers. The sessions included interactive activities such as role-playing, animated film screenings, quizzes, and real-life traffic simulations.
A special Cycle Conspicuity cum Awareness Programme was conducted at key locations, including Apsara Border (East District), Okhla Mor (Mathura Road), Raja Harish Chander Hospital Intersection (Narela), and Moti Nagar. Around 400 cyclists participated, with reflective tapes affixed to their cycles to improve visibility. The Road Safety Cell, along with TI/Narela, TI/NFC, and circle staff, ensured the success of the initiative. Cyclists were educated on essential traffic rules, and feedback was collected from participants.
