Faridabad, February 3: Haryana Tourism Corporation’s Principal Secretary, Kala Ramachandran took stock of the preparations for the uoconing Surajkund Fair.
She said that the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Fair will be organized on a grand scale. The administration and government are making all necessary arrangements in the best possible manner to ensure a successful event.
She addressed a meeting of administrative officials regarding the preparations for the fair. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vikram Singh shared detailed information about the arrangements made by the district administration.
Kala Ramachandran highlighted that the Surajkund Fair has been digitized this year. For the first time, stall bookings have been done online, ensuring complete transparency. The fair is being integrated with a digital platform, making it more accessible to the public. Comprehensive details about the fair will be available on surajkundmela.in. She expressed that it is a matter of pride for Haryana to host an international-level fair successfully.
This year, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have been designated as the theme states, while BIMSTEC countries—Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand—will participate as partner nations. Additionally, the North East Handloom and Handicraft Association is the cultural partner, and Delhi Metro will serve as the ticketing partner.
The fair will welcome millions of visitors who will get to experience the rich cultural heritage of the theme states, along with the artistic works of weavers, artisans, and performers from various countries. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to indulge in traditional and delicious cuisines from different states of India.
After the review meeting, Kala Ramachandran and DC Vikram Singh, along with administrative officials, visited the fairgrounds to inspect the ongoing preparations and instructed the teams to complete the work as soon as possible.
Police Commissioner Satendra Kumar Gupta, ADC Sahil Gupta, Haryana Tourism Corporation MD Sunil Kumar, DCP Headquarters Abhishek Jorwal, DCP Jasleen Kaur, DCP Kuldeep Singh, GM Ashutosh Ranjan, SDM Amit Mann, Mayank Bhardwaj, CTM Ankit Kumar, along with Tourism Corporation’s Fair Manager U.S. Bharadwaj, AGM Harvinder Yadav, and other concerned officials were present at the revuew meeting.
