Ministry of Education Marks NEP 2020 Anniversary with “Shiksha Saptah”

New Delhi, July 28 : The Ministry of Education is celebrating the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020 with a week-long initiative called “Shiksha Saptah.” On the final day, schools across the country are highlighting community involvement in education through the Vidyanjali and Tithi Bhojan programs.

Vidyanjali, a volunteer management initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 7, 2021, is run by the Department of School Education & Literacy. It seeks to enhance educational quality by involving communities, CSR, and private sectors nationwide.

During this campaign, schools are encouraged to register on the Vidyanjali portal and recruit local volunteers. These volunteers’ contributions will be acknowledged on a “Wall of Fame” in schools. Letters of gratitude from principals, teachers, and students will also be sent to these volunteers.

To raise awareness, activities like rallies, street plays, and poster-making events are being organized. State and district officials are actively supporting these efforts, aligning with NEP 2020’s objective to boost community engagement in education.

The initiative aims to create a robust support system for students and teachers, fostering a better learning environment through collaboration between schools and communities via the Vidyanjali portal (https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in/).
