NEET UG Re Examination Confirmed for June 21 After Cancellation of Earlier Test

NTA announces fresh schedule following irregularity concerns and ongoing investigation

New Delhi May 15 2026: The National Testing Agency has officially announced that the NEET UG 2026 examination will now be conducted again on June 21 after the earlier test held on May 3 was cancelled due to allegations of question paper leak and reported irregularities.

The decision was shared by the National Testing Agency with approval from the Government of India, stating that candidates and parents should rely only on official communication channels for updates related to the examination. The medical entrance test, which is conducted nationwide for admission to undergraduate medical courses, was earlier scrapped after concerns emerged regarding the integrity of the examination process.

The cancellation followed inputs received from multiple agencies along with findings shared by law enforcement authorities. Investigations linked to suspected irregularities in Rajasthan and other regions prompted further scrutiny of the conduct of the examination. The matter was also referred to central investigative agencies for independent verification.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has taken over the probe and has made several arrests in connection with the alleged leak. During proceedings in a Delhi court, the agency reportedly indicated that the question paper trail may have originated from within the examination authority network, with further links being examined across different states including Haryana, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

So far, multiple individuals have been taken into custody in connection with the case as the investigation continues to trace the chain of events behind the alleged compromise of the examination process.
